We’re not usually ones to blow our own trumpet. And anyway, that’s a metaphor, so not really what the Plain English Campaign is all about. They like you to tell it straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here it is, straight: we’ve been awarded the Plain English Campaign’s Internet Crystal Mark for the second year running. It’s recognition of the fact that, although the insurance sector is awash with incomprehensible jargon and legalese, we do things differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first, a bit of background…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Plain English Campaign has been leading the fight against ‘gobbledygook, jargon and misleading public information’ since 1979. It’s worked with UK government departments, authorities, and private companies alike to help make sure the information they present to the public is nothing short of crystal clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That makes us a match made in heaven, then, because we’re all about jargon-free<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Plain English Campaign’s Internet Crystal Mark<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Internet Crystal Mark is the Campaign’s seal of approval for companies they recognise as being committed to plain English all across their website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being ‘approved’ means your site’s language, accessibility, navigation, design, and layout work separately and together to prove you’re doing everything practical to promote clarity. That makes for a much easier ride for customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it goes without saying we’re chuffed to be an Internet Crystal Mark holder<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It hasn’t happened by accident of course and it’s not something we’ve strived for just because it looks good. It’s one of the reasons we exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our founder, Iain Hatfield, explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPolicyBee began because I was frustrated at how unnecessarily complicated business insurance is. I don\u2019t like how confusing the language can be, I don\u2019t like how difficult it can be for businesses to understand what they need, and I don\u2019t like how lengthy both the process and the documents can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I set out to redefine what an insurance broker should be by listening to our customers. They want plain-speaking, valuable guidance from honest experts who know what they\u2019re talking about, and I\u2019m delighted our website showcases and reinforces these values.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll keep trying to do insurance better<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’re not ones to rest on our laurels, so we’ll keep on trying to provide an even better service. And we’ll do it because that’s what our customers want and because there’s always room for improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To keep us on our toes, our Internet Crystal Mark seal of approval is reviewed every year, to make sure we’re consistently hitting the clarity mark. We’ve achieved it again this year, and we’ll be aiming for a repeat performance next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
