About the insurers we use
Individual insurer's financial strength is given a rating by various financial intelligence organisations (like Standard and Poors, A.M. Best, and Fitch). It's a bit like a credit score and provides a means for brokers and policyholders to assess any given insurer's level of security and its ability to pay claims.
The ratings themselves sound rather like school grades. For example, you might see 'rated as A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best' or 'rated as B++ (Good) by Fitch' noted somewhere on insurers' websites.
We only work with credible, highly-rated insurers: Hiscox Insurance Company and W.R. Berkley (Europe) Ltd provide the insurance you can buy on our website. They’re both market leaders in professional indemnity and business insurance, and they’re both rated 'A' (Excellent) by A.M. Best.
If neither of these two can cover you, we can source alternative, specialist cover from a range of similarly reliable insurers including Manchester Underwriting, Catlin, Royal & Sun Alliance, HCC, CFC Underwriting, Groupama and, of course, the Lloyd's market.
