Before you start your claim...

If you’re not sure how much of a problem you have, or even if you have one, you can call us first and we’ll help.

No matter what sort of claim you’re making, try not to panic. And if someone’s claiming against you:

  • Don’t admit liability
  • Don’t try to settle the claim yourself
  • Don’t reveal you have insurance or your policy’s level of cover
  • Don’t communicate with the claimant without your insurer’s say-so.

Doing so could mean your insurer turns down all or part of your claim. So, if there’s anything you’re not sure about, let us know.

What happens next?

Once we have your claim, one of our team will be in touch to explain next steps.

How much more info we ask for will depend on the type of claim and what’s happened. A professional indemnity claim may take more digging than a dropped laptop, for example.

How long it all takes also varies. A simple equipment claim can be paid in just a few days. But a complicated negligence claim involving solicitors can take months.

Either way, we’ll always have your back. And we’ll always keep you in the loop.

Once a claim’s settled, it can be paid quickly via Bacs transfer. Just remember it’ll be minus the policy excess. You’ll find it on your schedule.
